Inlays / CEREC 3D®

Inlays and overlays are fillings which are used to recover damaged parts of teeth. For example they are used, when a part of the tooth breaks, caries has caused a large whole in the tooth or if an amalgam filling has to be replaced. We speak of inlays if the filling material is applied only to the inner surface of the (molar) tooth and of overlays, if additionally parts of the exterior surface of the tooth are covered.

Contrary to (artificial) crowns, an overlay covers natural tooth crowns only partially. We produce inlays and overlays during a single session, thanks to the latest, computer-based CEREC 3D® technology, custom-fit, made of massive ceramics or they are produced individually at the dental laboratory for complex cases.
