Chewing Function Disorders
Chewing function disorders are disorders of the so-called chewing system (i.e. the interaction of teeth, jaw joint and chewing muscles). This is expressed as teeth grinding (bruxism) or jaw joint problems. If they remain untreated for a long time, chewing function disorders can damage the tooth substance or lead to chronical jaw joint pains.
Chewing function disorders can substantially be remedied by correcting dental misalignments and the use of protective guards.
