Periodontology
In periodontal therapy, we treat “gingivitis”
(inflammation
of the gums caused by plaque
and
tartar and the bacteria they contain)
and one
of its
consequences known as “periodontitis”
(inflammation
of the tissues supporting the teeth,
the periodontium, with the formation
of pockets
and increasing bone loss). Depending on the
case,
different
measures are used for treatment,
such as
intensive cleaning and rinsing
of the
affected
region(s), the administration of local
and/or
systemic
antibiotics and antibacterial mouthwashes
or surgical revision.
