Treatment of myoarthropathy

“Myoarthropathy” refers to symptoms in the area of the jaw joint (“temporomandibular joint”) and/or the jaw muscles, which are caused by teeth clenching and/or grinding (“bruxism”). These symptoms may take the form of tension or pain on the affected side (pains in the upper and/or lower jaw radiating into the teeth, ear, eye, throat, nape of the neck) and even generalised headaches. They have various causes and, depending on the case, different treatment methods are considered, such as physiotherapy, bite guard, analgesic or anti-inflammatory medication, psychotherapy or a combination
of these.
