Medical
anti-wrinkle treatment
For medical anti-wrinkle treatment, a
very thin needle is used to inject a small dose of a medi-
cation that blocks
the transmission of stimuli from
the nerve to the muscle into the affected
muscles
in the skin, which reduces muscle tension and smooths unwanted
lines and wrinkles.
The effect can be seen after one to two
weeks and
lasts for about three to six months. The treatment
also delays
the formation of new wrinkles. The
medication has only a local action and
is completely
broken down by the body. The most common side
effects are
slight redness at the injection site and
head-aches, but these are generally
quite rare and
only last a short time.
The detailed consultation and treatment
are carried out by our Specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery FMH.
